This is a considered and well researched article by Professor in Law Bobby Chesney, looking at the how and why of the much publicised and far reaching SolarWinds security breach and subsequent attacks on their clients.
Booby looks at the multiple steps taken by the attackers, the patience required and the testing carried out before the final “authenticated” malicious code was added to the regular update released by SolarWinds to all their clients. Clients who were relying on the integrity of SolarWinds as part of their cyber security defences.
