Here is a YouTube from Hugh Jeffreys, that looks at the Anom smartphone and ArcaneOS, developed and sold by the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Australian Federal Police (AFP) to catch criminals as part of a worldwide sting operation.
The supposedly secure services on this phone were actually compromised and monitored by law enforcement agencies, resulting in the arrests of many surprised crooks.
The video is interesting as it shows how the cloak and dagger “secrecy” on the phone worked, giving that false sense of security. Other than that is it really bad at being an ordinary smartphone. Now they just add to landfill or are recycled.
