Samsung suffered its second major data breach of 2022, but the details it is releasing are few and far between. There is some excuse about it being a holiday weekend or the data being of low value.

- I am sure you do, and I know I do, work on holidays and evenings when the work is important enough. I started a cyber security investigation for a client, on a Bank Holiday weekend and that prompt start meant we closed a possible further vulnerability on the Saturday rather than the Tuesday.
- Let the those whose data you have leaked decide on the value.
- Transparency in the face of a cyber security incident, may not be the perfect solution for the marketing and PR departments, but if an incident has happened transparency will be good for your clients and for solving the issues.
