Is Twitter a decade behind in its security practices?

This is what a recently fired, Twitter employee is claiming. It could be sour grapes, but Peiter Zatko, the former head of security at Twitter is making these claims in sworn testimony.

With the number of users who regularly use Twitter, including governments and organisations that make official announcements on the social media platform, the personal information about the users it holds and the influence it has – any security concerns, is something Twitter should be addressing.

Peiter Zatko points out that with the information Twitter has on an individual, if it leaks, it makes targeting that individual very easy.

This comes as the Twitter shareholders have approved the purchase of the company by Elon Musk:
