Meta – the owners of Facebook – have been fined nearly £350m for the way they asked permission to use users personal information. The Irish Data Protection Commission found that Facebook had broken EU data protection laws, now Meta have three months to make fix things:

We are about to give away an ebook on cyber security, in exchange for your email – I rejected the suggested wording the web designer proposed for the sign-up page and wrote my own! Not sure I would be fined that much but I wanted it to be right.
