Two Twitter things

First Twitter is reported to have further reduced it’s online safety team – already severely reduced because of the job cuts Elon Musk initiated when he took over the company. A platform where hate speech of all kinds is easily distributed – including the position of Elon’s plane, Oh he fixed that privacy/safety issue – needs a professional user safety team.

There is no argument Elon’s social media company has loss control of a huge amount of personally sensitive information which is now in the hands of threat actors around the world.

What Twitter’s 200 million email leak really means | Ars Technica

As Lily Hay Newman’s article explains much of what has been compromised is already available from other legitimate sources, email addresses, phone number etc. What this hack has revealed is the connections between these bits of data and so anonymity and privacy of Twitter’s users has been impacted.

Twitter had no comment, for Ars Technica on the data theft and consequent sale/release of its user’s data!

witter has released a statement saying that a substantial amount of the data attributed to the the data theft from Twitter is from other information sources.
