TikTok privacy issues – it looks like ordinary users do not really care about the outcry

In an article on the BBC Technology News site, it seems that the ordinary user of TikTok is not that concerned with the international outcry and banning of the official use of TikTok. They just want to share and watch videos – which is what the platform was originally designed for – it was not intended to be a government/official news channel.

Your take away from this is use secure, accountable apps for those tasks that need it – for instance Teams rather than WhatsApp – and when you use social media channels remember that what you post and what metadata you are giving away could be used by anyone.
