A couple of weeks back I posted a link to an article by Marianna Spring, the BBC’s Disinformation and social media correspondent, that examined how Twitter was functioning having now laid so many people off – many of whom appeared to be working as Twitter’s social conscience.
Twitter, trolls, child abuse, redundancies and Musk
Marianna did reach out to Musk – the high profile, vocal, owner of Twitter – but he was too busy to reply before her article, and the associated Panorama programme, were released. This would have been his and Twitter’s opportunity to put their points forward have have them included in the article/programme.
However he has not been too busy since to make replies to Marianna and the BBC, using his position of privilege on Twitter, addressing his 130 million followers.
None of his replies were constructive – I think he was supporting hate and trolls on Twitter, but I am not sure. However the trolls did come out and directed their hate and misogyny at Marianna, of course.

His actions simple proved Marianna’s research correct.
