End-to-end-ecryption (E2EE) seems to be an issue with many democratic governments – they dislike their law abiding citizens having it unless they can have the keys to the security. If governments have the keys to your E2EE it will not be long before the criminals also have those keys!
Now Spain has come out against E2EE:

It is a complicated issue, government and other agencies will often cite child protection and catching paedophiles and other criminals as their reasons for wanting to ban secure E2EE communications. However many of the proposed laws. around the world, either lack sufficient judicial controls or put the control into the hands of unaccountable agencies.
I support a well-trained and funded police force and judiciary to enforce the laws we have already using due process. Rather than the shortcut to spy on everyone’s communications when they think they will.
You need to make your own mind up.
