All week I watch out for what I am going to talk about on a Friday to ease you into the weekend, amid the regular cyber security bad news stories I have to post. Some weeks I just come across the unexpected – like milk bottles or marble runs…
Marble Runs
I got to todays blog via a post on Randall Munroe’s xkcd:
Before seeing his post I did not know marble runs were a thing. I had played Mouse Trap when I was a child. There was a Mouse Trap drinking and kissing game when I was at college (note to wife and children reading this I did not take part). We bought our children Mouse Trap, but I had not heard of marble runs.
Of course I googled it and then ended up on YouTube. All of which happened when I had a publication deadline looming!
Here is one of my favourites (to date). You think you know the result in the first few seconds of the race but watch on…
You’re now going to google it, aren’t you?
The weekend
I have a post coming out over the weekend with further comment on ChatGPT following last week’s weekend read. This time by Nello Cristianini, Professor of Artificial Intelligence at the University of Bath wo is putting more context to the ChatGPT extinction event story.
I am off on a week’s training course next week – so only the most important cyber security stories will be posted during week, but I will be looking for my next Because It’s Friday article.
Have a good weekend.
