I do not remember these adverts from the 1960s but I do remember getting Thunderbird models from cereal packets and watching Thunderbirds on a Saturday morning with my Grandfather.
For those of you who do not know what Thunderbirds was back in the 1960s, there is a primer video at the end of this article. For those of you who do not know what 6d is – have a look at this.
I also remember the ice lollies – although without any research – I am sure Zoom and Fab are still available today, but not Thunderbirds branded.
Thunderbirds on DVD
Having written this “Because It’s Friday” I think I will dust off the Thunderbirds DVDs this weekend and watch a few of the episodes with Jeremy.
