Another Police Force with a Data Leak

Following the data loss and breach at the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) and the Norfolk and Suffolk Police forces, the London Metropolitan Police has reported a data breach.

An investigation is underway at one of its suppliers into unauthorised access to police information they held. The supplier has not yet been named.

Sharing information you are responsible for with any third party is a risk that you need understand. I am absolutely sure the Met followed all of its guidelines and undertook due diligence before committing to this supplier. But any organisation could suffer a cyber attack or data breach – what are you going to do then? Do you have a plan?
