LinkedIn Phishing

LinkedIn is extremely popular among business professionals and is a perfectly acceptable social media platform to use and interact with, whilst you are at work. It is designed for just that.

So make sure you and your team understand how the platform can easily be abused to steal your credentials.

LinkedIn Smart Links attacks return to target Microsoft accounts (bleepingcomputer.com)

The phishing attack

The attack revolves around phishing emails that include LinkedIn Smart Links – that by design look as though they originate at a trusted source but are actually malicious.

Once the link has been clicked on you will – of course – be asked to giveaway your Microsoft credentials!

If you allow your team to use LinkedIn at work then this warning is for you. Do something about it, I have. I have added it to my Cyber Security Awareness Training live courses. The online courses will be updated in the near future.
