End the week with ransomware or start the week with ransomware…

…it is all the same. In case you have been under a stone forever, ransomware is probably one of the most circulated bits of malware out there and if you get hit with it there will be serious consequences for your organisation. It doesn’t matter whether you were the deliberate target of a threat actor or just collateral damage in a bigger hacking scheme – your data will be encrypted, possibly stolen and open to abuse.

Large business, small organisation, charity family firm or one-person company it does not matter to the hacker. Here are two examples that made the news from just the last couple of days.

FBI: Royal ransomware asked 350 victims to pay $275 million (bleepingcomputer.com)

LockBit ransomware leaks gigabytes of Boeing data (bleepingcomputer.com)

Of course, there are more successful attacks on smaller organisations that did not get into news.

Your ransomware plan will mitigate those consequences.
