Now you know what the problem is, here is a global solution to it:
Registrars can now block all domains that resemble brand names (bleepingcomputer.com)
It looks like some of the leading domain registrars are using the solution – protecting both the brands impacted and the people and organisation like us who would be suckered into the cyber crimes.
This can only be a good thing however if every registrar adopts it – however registrars located in countries that have less scruples when it comes to the internet are not likely to get on board. So our defences cannot be lowered, we will just see less rogue domains rather than none.
