More patching – this time Google

Zero-day software vulnerabilities are an issue for every vendor – how quick they react to them when they eventually find out they have a problem will be a key part of the risk in your cyber security planning. Google seems to get on this issue really quickly – as far as its flagship web browser is concerned:

Patching or lack of, can be a major cyber security issue for any organisation large or small.

My advice: Either you or your IT support need to check whether these issues impact your systems. You need to have a master document that details your systems, hardware, software, online, networks, back-ups, suppliers etc – so when cyber security (or operational) issues arise you and your support teams can quickly check if you are affected. From there you can take fast, effective action.
