I am a user of the Tor browser – it was built for privacy, especially useful for politicians, journalists and activists – which is why the US Government has a hand in its development.
There are now reports that a rogue Tor browser was distributed to Chinese users which did the opposite to what they expected – it recorded their activity with built in spyware – the legitimate version of Tor is blocked by China’s Great Firewall.
