We are back to space this week – but not looking at a NASA mission or amazing images from a space telescope. No this week we are going to look at “life on Mars”!
I came across this site whilst researching stories for Smart Thinking this week. I could not resist a quick look which resulted in me making a cup of coffee and scrolling through 45 images and their explanations (and adverts, there are a lot of adverts). The images are not what they seem and most are accompanied by an explanation as to what they really are – most are just optical illusions.

The perfect “Because It’s Friday” coffee break post – my favourite is the shot of the lava coils.

And for something a little more scientific:
Overview | Mars – NASA Solar System Exploration
This page has a real time “how far away is Mars?” counter.
The image at the top of this page is a mosaic of Mars, created from images captured by the Viking Orbiter 1. (Valles Marineris: The Grand Canyon of Mars | NASA Solar System Exploration).
Have a good weekend.
