For this week’s bit of something else before the weekend – you can now understand why we shorten this slot and call it “Because It’s Friday” – we are off to space. In particular to the International Space Station and a camera on the station that broadcasts continuous live images from orbit.
There are some interruptions to the service – of course on of those times was when I was writing this piece and needed a screenshot – but when the pictures are up you get an ever changing high definition view of the world from space.
Trying to identify where you are exactly looking is a challenge.
You can spot the passage of the International Space Station overhead without a telescope or binoculars, it appears as a rapidly moving bright star but you have to know where to look. I have used an app to find it before and if you are really keen you can get an email alert from NASA when the station orbits over where you live.
