I have written about the privacy issues surrounding Apple AirTags and similar gadgets. They were originally made to enable careless people (like me) find our keys and other things that get misplaced. It did not take people long to realise they could also track people with them. This is a good idea when it is your child or may be an elderly relative who needs some extra care. It is a bad idea when it is to stalking an ex-partner, current partner or some other unsuspecting person.
Now Apple, Google and Samsung and other Bluetooth tracking device companies are getting behind plans to stop this type of malicious tracking:

Apple already produces a personal safety guide for everyone, showing how to take charge of your device and your privacy. I have read it and found some useful tips in it.
Privacy is an excellent place to start when you want good cyber security.
