“The Information Superhighway”, that is a term I have not heard in a long time, but it came up in a BBC YouTube video I watched this week.
“…every word ever written…”
“…transform your home into a mammoth interactive entertainment centre…”
“On something called the internet…”
President Bill Clinton had an email address but Prime Minister John Major didn’t.
“…and of course, I have to give them my credit card details…”
That was just 30 years ago – a year before we set up Octagon Technology. I had an internet connection and an email account then but no wife! The government of the day had no declared policy on this new electronic future – except “leave it to market forces”.
And now we use the internet for watching cat videos!
A Paper Map of the Internet
This is not the first “Because It’s Friday” looking at the internet of 1994. Previously I had published excerpts from a map of the internet published in 1994.
I hope you enjoy the video and the map – have a good weekend.
