Apple Updates

Microsoft’s Patch Tuesday is featured here every month – it is important part of everyone’s cyber security. Apple’s updates however are not always on a certain day but they are as important.

All the current operating systems receive updates to patch a total of 67 vulnerabilities, with older operating systems – iOS 17, macOS 13, and macOS14 – getting security updates. Apple does show more commitment than most vendors with supporting older systems with security updates – which means, at the moment, I do not need to replace my iPad which will not install iOS 18.

Apple security releases – Apple Support

Systems covered by this update are:

  • iOS 18
  • iPadOS 18
  • iOS 17
  • iPadOS 17
  • macOS Sequoia 15
  • macOS Sonoma 14
  • macOS Ventura 13
  • watchOS 11
  • tvOS 18.1
  • visionOS 2.1

Make sure these updates are done. It is a good idea to email anyone in your team that is using an Apple device for BYOD, to remind them to check that their equipment is patched.

Remember, it is not wise to only rely on Apple’s automatic updates.
