But very occassionally we do get close to the core subject of Smart Thinking Solutions – cyber security – but hopefully in an entertaining way. Today is one of those Fridays.
Digital Forensics
Not the type of digital forensics your regularly see abused on TV, in such shows as NSIS, but the real-world type that I studied at Uni, are a significant tool in determining who did what, and when to whom.
Robert Davies and Emily Chiang of Aston University have written an excellent article looking at how the plot of Richard Osman’s latest cosy crime novel shows how ChatGPT and other AI systems will have an impact on digital forensics.

The article is worth a read, I cannot vouch for “We Solve Murders”. However Diana and I have all four of Richard Osman’s “Thursday Murder Club” audiobooks for listening to on long car journeys. The first two are worth a read or listen, we have not got to the second two yet.
