There is a website where you can check if your password has been compromised – yes really. It does sound like a scam to harvest unsuspecting users passwords, but no. The website https://haveibeenpwned.com/ has built a reputation as a useful cyber security tool.
Now the UK National Crime Agency has become the second major law enforcement agency to share compromised passwords it had in its possession with Have I been pwned.
The NCA shares 585 million passwords with Have I Been Pwned – The Record by Recorded Future
This gives you an opportunity to see if your passwords have been compromised and if so you can then change them.

You need a different password for each “thing” you log into
