The BBC has an article about the identity theft again the novelist Joe Dunthorne.
Instagram failed to act on identity theft, says novelist – BBC News
I think the most important thing to come out of the article is the sheer difficulty in communicating with Big Tech.
They all favour convoluted online communication channels. I am sure Big Tech will carefully explain to us, their customers, how these systems are there to “streamline the user experience” and “to ensure that the best member of their team addresses our concerns”. But generally they leave us exhausted and wondering if it was worth the trouble.
I am in a situation with Apple at this very moment and I am experiencing this communication quagmire for myself in real time. May be I will write about my experiences – let’s see how they eventually deal with an issue that started over 100 days ago?
