Something to read whilst having a coffee this morning – it’s fun.
Here is a follow up story to our “F12” hacking Governor – Mike Parson – from police department, he demanded investigate journalist Josh Renaud. So what great crime did the journalist commit – he used the F12 key on his keyboard to look at the source code on a webpage – rendered on his computer – and in doing the Governor’s insecure website revealed the social security numbers, long with other useful information of several educators.
Needless to say the police, once they carried out their investigation there was no case for Josh Renaud to answer. Further to that, the police found both the journalist and newspaper (St. Louis Post-Dispatch) had acted correctly by reporting the incident to authorities and waiting for the fix before printing their story and that the flaw had existed since 2011.
Here read the story for yourself – and see what the “outraged” Governor said before the investigation was carried out.
