It is being reported by a Canadian investigation team, Citizen Lab , that devices at No. 10 Downing Street and the Foreign and Commonwealth Office were infected with the Pegasus spyware during 2020/2021. The attack is being linked to operatives in the UAE, India, Cyprus and Jordan.

Pegasus is spyware that is commercially available from the Israeli company NSO Group – but is only sold to governments or vetted organisations. The UN has called for it’s sale to be regulated. The NSO Group defends it’s position to sell to governments and legitimate law enforcement to catch criminals and terrorists.
