Microsoft is promising a “VPN” like feature in it’s Edge browser to protect the users private information when browsing.

At the moment it is described as a “preview feature” but does not appear to be available yet on any official versions of Edge.
Of course there are caveats when compared to a “real VPN”:
- This VPN will not protect anything other than Microsoft Edge traffic
- Microsoft will be enforcing a free limit of 1GB of data per month – 1GB should last a day or two!
- Your geographical location will be fixed
However that aside, it is another step towards easy privacy for everyone – as the big thing it will do is hide your browsing habits from your ISP.
