The last time I can remember having to use a bank card to make a payment was a couple of months back, at Fords to put a deposit on a new car. Interestingly enough the service centre at the same garage just took Apple Pay. (Also I am still waiting for the car – supply chain issues!). I just use Apple Pay.
So it was a concern for me – and our clients, and my wife who I encouraged onto Apple Pay – when it has been revealed that locked iPhones can be hacked and payments taken from Apple Pay without the user’s knowledge.

The vector for this attack is the contactless payment implemented so Apple Pay can be used for such quick payments as London underground tickets at the turnstile. In testing Samsung’s and Master Card’s equivalent services was secure.
