The National Crime Agency, the Information Commissioner’s Office and National Cyber Security Centre are investigating an incident involving the membership data of the Labour Party.

The scale of the breach and the third party that has been breached has not yet been announced as investigations are ongoing. Joe Tidy a reported for the BBC has commented that it is a ransomware attack but this has not been confirmed.
The NCSC had advice for those who think they may be a affected by this incident: “We would urge anyone who thinks they may have been the victim of a data breach to be especially vigilant against suspicious emails, phone calls or text messages and to follow the steps set out in our data breaches guidance.”
