Why we like AI – and a tiny bit on how it works and privacy

Following my post about the Reith Lecture – I came across this video on YouTube from a excellent creator I follow – Curious Droid. (Did you know I like space?)

He talks about Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML) and artificial neural networks, what the difference is and how they are implemented – in basic terms. It can give some context to Professor Stuart Russell’s lectures. Although I am not keen on the term “machine intelligence”.

The video also addresses the privacy issues with these AI systems when they are connected to our smartphones and other services we all use.

Next week’s Reith Lecture is on “AI in Warfare – From drones to robots, what should be the role of AI in military operations?”.
