Cyber threat from Ukraine Russia conflict is growing as the invasion progresses

Data wiper malware was one the first cyber-weapons deployed in the Ukraine Russia conflict and data researchers are now tracking six major strains of malware as a direct result of the Ukraine Russia conflict.

There have been accounts of the malware impacting outside the conflict zone, for example German wind turbines were disrupted because they depended on Ukrainian systems.

CISA updated it’s advisory, this week, concerning the widespread use of data wiper malware in the conflict and the Five Eyes also updated their advice particularly relating to critical infrastructure.
