Because It’s Friday – What is the Taste of the Centre of the Galaxy?

So do you know? Spoiler it is not daisies.

This post came about because this odd question came up on Richard Osman’s House of Games – and I just had to check it out.

The answer is raspberries – it is to do with the hunt, by astronomers for amino acids in space – they are the building blocks of life – in space. Whilst sorting through data from Sagittarius B2, a dust cloud at the centre of the galaxy, scientists failed to find amino acids, they did find ethyl formate. This is the chemical that gives raspberries their flavour.
