The National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) has released its annual report on the state of the nation’s cyber security.
NCSC warns of enduring and significant threat to UK’s… – NCSC.GOV.UK
The main theme of the report is to highlight the unpredictability of the ever-changing threat landscape, emphasising that UK organisations need to be aware of their cyber security continuously.
Here is the report:
NCSC Annual Review 2023 – NCSC.GOV.UK
There is a marked increase in incidents reported to the NCSC to over 2000, although a change in data collection means comparisons to other years can not be made. Nearly 300 of these were ransomware attacks and over three hundred of the reported incidents involved the theft of data. Of course not all incidents end up being reported to the NCSC, they are just dealt with in house.
It is worth your while to read the report – it clearly lays out for UK organisations and businesses what the threats are and what you should do about it.
