Microsoft takes a stand

This one action is not going to stop cyber-crime, but Microsoft has seized rogue domains in the past and there is no doubt that it has an impact on the threat actor’s illicit infrastructure.

Your takeaway from this

The use of stolen credentials is a major tool in the threat actor’s arsenal – and administrator level Microsoft credentials are among the most valuable – this why Microsoft have gone after these sites that enable credential theft.

What you need to do is make the security of your credentials – for everything – a priority across your organisation. Speak to your IT or Cyber Security Support today. (At the very least do it before the New Year!)

Our SOC is one way to strengthen credential security

Our Security Operations Centre will monitor your Microsoft 365 and other systems day and night continuously watching and reacting to suspicious credential activity – it is a great place to start if you want to improve credential security.

Still not sure a SOC will work for you?

John O’Mahony, one of the keynote speakers from the recent Connect London 2023 conference, will present a webinar on our SOC and cyber security stack for Octagon Technology and Smart Thinking. John is a Senior Cybersecurity Solutions Specialist with Kaseya and specialises in how corporate level cyber security tools can be leveraged for smaller organisations.

This is not an open event – clients of Octagon Technology and Smart Thinking will be getting invitations – but if you’d like to know what you are missing out on, get in touch with us and I will be happy to book you in.
