Researchers at BitDefender have discovered cyber security flaws in WebOS, the operating system used in LG smart TVs.
Over 90,000 LG Smart TVs may be exposed to remote attacks (bleepingcomputer.com)
I manual ran a software update on my TV to ensure it is running the latest secure version of WebOS.
Your Takeaway
This is not the usual business focused cyber security story I run – as most of you do not have TVs in your office – but what about members of your team who are hybrid or work from home members of staff?
Here at home, where both Diana and I have our offices, I have my TV and other domestic devices running on a separate network, so there is no interaction with our secure network. “Domestic devices” also include out children’s, grandchildren’s and visitor’s devices (Unless they are members of the Octagon team).
Does this reflect the policies you have in place for your hybrid workers? If not is it time you called us?
