Encryption

For today’s Wednesday Bit, I want to rerun an article I first published in November last year.

I was reminded about my article on encryption for two reasons…

One of my current IT and Cyber Security Audits has highlighted an issue where very sensitive information is being shared in a less than satisfactory way. It is so serious that immediate steps have been implemented – whilst the audit is in progress – to secure this potential information leak.

It is not unusual during an IT and Cyber Security Audit for me to discover a major issue. It is the reason that the audit is being undertaken, the client and stakeholders want the reassurance of a secure organisation. If there is an issue they want to know. Depending on how serums the issue, my recommendations for fixing the problems are put in place before the final report is delivered to the board.

The second is not because I have not finished the promised article about the cyber security risk in your inbox, but because reminding you of encryption will add importance to the email inbox article next week.
