LockBit ransomware group implicated in crippling attack on French hospital – The Record by Recorded Future

New ‘Donut Leaks’ extortion gang linked to recent ransomware attacks (bleepingcomputer.com)

RansomEXX claims ransomware attack on Sea-Doo, Ski-Doo maker (bleepingcomputer.com)

And if you should want to pay the ransom because you had no other defences in place…

The National Cyber Security Centre and the Information Commissioner’s Office also do not want you paying the ransom:

So how are the targets chosen?

Not on that list – well remember you might still receive the malicious email containing the ransomware link, even though you were not the intended target. Ransomware gangs will not pass up a target of opportunity. So do have good staff cyber security awareness and a compliant back-up?
